Home Services Pricing Guide

What to Expect for Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and Garage Door Services

Replacing a panel, installing a new water heater, or adding an EV charger costs real money. Before you call anyone, you deserve a number to work from. That is why we put this guide together.

These price ranges are based on actual jobs Awesome Home Services completed in Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and the surrounding counties. They are not guaranteed quotes. Every home is different, and what we find when we get there affects the final cost. But they will put you in the right neighborhood before you pick up the phone.

We give you up-front pricing before any work begins. No surprises after the fact, no quotes that grow once we are inside your home.

Ready to get a real number? Call (719) 800-7121 or contact us online. We serve Colorado Springs, Pueblo, El Paso County, Douglas County, and the surrounding area.

What Affects the Cost of Home Services?

No two homes are the same, and no two jobs are priced the same either.

The following factors move a service price up or down the most:

  • System age and condition – Older equipment sometimes needs additional labor, specialized parts, or safety upgrades to meet current code before new work begins. If your system is aging, we will tell you that before we start.
  • Access and site conditions – Tight crawl spaces, finished walls, and equipment in difficult locations add time to a job. Time adds cost. We are not going to hide that from you.
  • Parts and materials – We do not cut corners on components. The quality of what goes into a job affects how long the work holds up. That matters more than a lower invoice today.
  • Code compliance – Some jobs require bringing existing systems up to current standards before we add anything new. If that is the case, we walk you through it before the work starts.
  • Scope of the project – A repair is priced differently from a full system replacement or a whole-home upgrade. What you are starting with matters as much as what you are trying to end up with.
  • Emergency vs. scheduled service – After-hours and urgent calls reflect the availability required to respond quickly. If you can schedule ahead, do it. If you cannot, we are available 24/7.

Electrical Service Price Ranges

Our electrical manager holds certifications from Tesla, ChargePoint, Span, Generac, Sonnen, LG Chem, Enphase, SolarEdge, and Delta.

The ranges below reflect work we completed for homeowners:

Panel pricing depends on the size of the upgrade, the current condition of your service, and whether a permit and inspection are required. EV charger installations vary based on the charger type, the distance from your panel, and whether any panel capacity upgrades are needed first. Generator costs reflect unit size, transfer switch type, and fuel source.

Plumbing Service Price Ranges

Our plumbing manager brings more than 12 years of hands-on residential experience.

The following ranges cover the most common plumbing installations we handle for homeowners:

Water heater pricing varies based on tank capacity, fuel type, and whether existing venting or connections need to be modified. Repipe costs depend on the size of your home and the accessibility of your plumbing. Softener and filtration pricing reflect system type and the water quality conditions we find during your assessment.

HVAC Service Price Ranges

Our HVAC team has been working in the trade since 1995. We are a Bryant Dealer and a Certified Aeroseal Dealer, and we arrive in a fully stocked vehicle, so most jobs are handled in a single visit.

These ranges apply to residential HVAC work:

System replacement pricing depends on the size of your home, the equipment brand and efficiency rating, and whether existing ductwork needs modification. Mini-split costs vary with the number of zones and the complexity of the installation. Aeroseal pricing reflects the size of your duct system and the level of leakage found during the diagnostic.

Garage Door Service Price Ranges

From a single-car replacement to a full double-door installation with new openers, our team handles garage door work with the same attention we bring to every trade we cover.

The following are general ranges for common garage door services:

  • Single-car garage door (new installation): $2,500 – $7,500
  • Double-car garage door (new installation): $4,200 – $11,200
  • opener replacement arms/opener: $700 – $1,900

Door pricing depends on material, insulation level, style, and the brand selected. Higher-end doors with custom finishes or added insulation fall toward the top of these ranges.

Opener pricing depends on the drive type (belt, chain, or screw), motor strength, and whether smart-home compatibility is included.

Why an In-Home Estimate Still Matters

A pricing guide gives you a starting point. It does not give you the full picture.

The actual cost of any job depends on what our technicians find when they get inside your home: the condition of existing systems, how accessible the work area is, and what it takes to do the job right and bring everything up to current code. Those things are not visible on a pricing page. They are visible when we are there.

Our process starts with an honest assessment. We tell you what we find, explain your options, and give you a price before any work begins. If a repair does not make sense given the age or condition of the system, we will say so. If a full replacement is the better long-term move, we will walk you through why.

That is how we earned our BBB A+ rating and our Nexstar Network membership: by giving straight answers instead of easy ones.

Local Factors That Can Influence Pricing

The communities we serve span a wide range of elevations, water sources, housing ages, and climates. These conditions can all influence installation and service costs:

  • A plumbing repair for a Peyton home on a private well differs from a repair needed in a Pueblo home on a municipal water system.
  • A newer build in Highlands Ranch presents different electrical conditions than a mid-century ranch in Fountain or Cimarron Hills

That’s why pricing can vary from home to home — even when the equipment looks similar on paper.

Elevation & Climate

Colorado’s climate puts exceptional strain on home systems.

  • Seasonal swings — from below-zero January nights to 90-degree summer afternoons — force heating and cooling equipment to work harder and run longer than it would in milder regions. Add in Colorado’s dry air, frequent hailstorms, and temperature swings that can shift 30 degrees in a single day, and HVAC systems here endure far more stress. As a result, aging equipment is often more likely to require full replacement rather than a simple repair once it fails.
  • Elevation adds another layer of complexity. Colorado’s varying altitudes affect HVAC combustion efficiency, water pressure behavior, and overall system performance. At higher elevations, furnaces, boilers, and water heaters must be properly sized and calibrated differently than they would be at sea level. In communities such as Castle Rock, Parker, and Colorado Springs, improperly sized or poorly calibrated equipment can lose efficiency, struggle to maintain even temperatures, and wear out significantly faster. When systems are forced to operate under those conditions year after year, replacement often comes sooner than homeowners expect.

For new installations, these conditions drive the selection of higher-capacity equipment, which carries a higher upfront cost than what a comparable home in a lower-demand climate would require.

Water Source and Water Quality

Water source varies significantly across our service area and has a direct impact on plumbing costs.

  • Hard municipal water in communities such as Colorado Springs, Fountain, and Pueblo can accelerate mineral buildup inside pipes, water heaters, and plumbing fixtures.
  • In rural areas like Black Forest, Peyton, and Falcon, well water often contains higher levels of iron and sediment, which can create additional wear on plumbing systems and appliances.

Over time, these conditions shorten the lifespan of water heaters, pipes, valves, and fixtures, causing repairs and replacements to occur much sooner. They also increase the likelihood that a new installation will experience the same problems if the underlying water-quality issue is left untreated.

When water quality is a contributing factor to a plumbing failure, the full cost of the service often includes treatment, not just equipment replacement.

Home Age

Our service area includes homes built across many different decades, and the age of a property often has a major impact on what is required before or during a system replacement. Many neighborhoods throughout the region still contain homes built in the 1950s through the 1970s, where original infrastructure — including galvanized steel or polybutylene plumbing, 100-amp electrical panels, aging ductwork, and older HVAC systems — may still be in place.

In these homes, major replacements frequently involve more than simply swapping out equipment. Bringing a new system up to current code and ensuring it performs safely and efficiently often requires additional upgrades to the surrounding infrastructure.

For example:

  • A water heater replacement in a 1960s home in Fountain or Security-Widefield may require updated venting.
  • An electrical panel replacement in an older Colorado Springs home may also require a service entrance upgrade to support the panel’s increased capacity.
  • An HVAC replacement in a home with original ductwork may require duct modifications or airflow corrections before the new system can operate as designed.
  • Newer communities such as Highlands Ranch, Parker, and Castle Rock generally experience fewer of these legacy infrastructure issues. However, many homes built during the 1990s and early 2000s are now reaching an age where aging mechanical systems, electrical capacity limitations, and worn plumbing components are beginning to create similar challenges.

These additional steps are not unnecessary add-ons — they are often code-required improvements that transform what appears to be a straightforward replacement into a more involved project.

Permits and Code Requirements

Permits are not only a necessary part of ensuring that major plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work is completed safely, legally, and to current code standards, but also represent real project costs that can vary significantly from one jurisdiction to another.

  • El Paso County, Pueblo County, and Douglas County each have their own permit fee schedules, inspection timelines, and code adoption cycles. A project that requires two inspections in one jurisdiction may require three in another.
  • Permitted inspections can also uncover existing conditions that are no longer up to code. When that happens, those deficiencies typically must be corrected before the permit can be finalized and approved. In some cases, this expands the scope of work beyond the original installation itself.

For homeowners, that can make what initially appears to be a simple replacement project more involved once the system is evaluated under current code standards.

New Construction

Communities such as Parker, Castle Rock, and Highlands Ranch continue to experience rapid growth, home additions, and increasing electrical demand. As homes evolve to accommodate modern technology and higher power usage, many projects require more than simply installing new equipment.

Adding electrical service to a finished basement or addition, installing an EV charger in a newer home with an already heavily utilized panel, or integrating a standby generator into a house that was not originally designed for backup power often involves coordination behind the scenes. These projects may require detailed load calculations, utility notification, and, in some cases, panel upgrades before the primary work can begin.

In many cases, the complexity lies not only in the equipment and labor itself, but in the sequencing required to ensure the home’s electrical system can safely support the added demand.

Wildfire and Wind Event Damage

Certain regions, such as Black Forest, Peyton, Falcon, and the areas northeast of Colorado Springs, are in recognized wildfire risk zones.

  • Smoke, heat, and post-fire debris intrusion can damage HVAC systems, contaminate ductwork, and degrade electrical components.
  • Wind events, which are common across the eastern plains and higher elevations, are also a leading cause of garage door spring and panel failures in this area.
  • Damage from these events doesn't always look severe on the surface, but it can significantly affect what a repair actually requires once a technician is inside the system.

These differences are real factors that affect how much labor, materials, and coordination go into any job. Understanding these variables helps you make sense of pricing ranges and set realistic expectations before we arrive.
